Soepinto Basoeki
Soepinto Basoeki known as Trombol is
both a live performance artist and author of 18 books exploring the development
of both children and folk theatre. Trombol wrote many plays for secondary
and high schools theatre groups in East Java and has introduced free
of non-scripted plays by way of improvisation in modern youth theatre.
Trombol is also an active actor in Traditional Performing Art – Ludruk
in East Java and represents Eastern Javanese Performing Art by giving
talks and seminars in many regions of Indonesia.
Trombol graduated in Cultural Studies
at IKIP University Malang and MA graduate in Education at UMHAKA Jakarta,
Indonesia. Trombol is currently working as a government educational officer
for the district of Probolinggo.
