Tim Motion

Born in 1936 in Ireland Tim started his lifelong passion for photography in the field of reportage and documentary. Through several metamorphoses including portraits, fashion, house interiors and travel his professional activities now encompass architecture, landscape, travel, and aerial photography from helicopters and hot air balloons. In 1988 he won a Gold Award in the Landscape Category of the Association of Photographers Annual Awards. He contributes photographs, and occasionally written articles, to magazines and newspapers.

He has travelled extensively on commission and participates in hot air balloon rallies and meetings from Latvia to the Tunisian Sahara, the Swiss and Austrian Alps to the Caribbean islands. He is at the moment constructing a relevant website, www.balloonpictures.com.

Tim is also a musician, playing piano and double bass, and through his interest in jazz from an early age he has built up an extensive photographic stock of jazz and blues musicians over the last 25 years for his Jazz & Blues Archive, with a website in preparation, www.jazzmotion.com.
